Celebrating Jagger – This Year’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion!

Every year, 170 local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals identify a “Champion” in each of their local communities to serve as the face for children treated at their local children’s hospital. These ambassadors spend their year advocating for the charitable need of children’s hospitals across North America. Meet our local 2019 CMNH Champion, Jagger!

Jagger, and his mom Jessica, were presented with CMNH Champion medals at a celebration last week.

As our Champion, Jagger will share his story while representing The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio at various events with donors and throughout the community. If you see him out and about, say hi!

At just five years old, Jagger was diagnosed with an aggressive Wilm’s tumor, the most common kidney cancer in children. Scans also revealed two cancerous nodules in his right lung. Jagger underwent surgery at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio to remove his kidney, followed by 28 weeks of chemotherapy, eight doses of whole lung radiation, and additional surgeries to remove the nodules.

Thanks to generous supporters like you, eight-year-old Jagger is cancer-free today, more than two years later. He loves swimming, acting, performing magic tricks, and is a big-time dancer.
