Help Costco Change Kids’ Health and Change The Future

Knowing that children’s hospitals are underfunded, Costco, its members, and employees are making a difference by fundraising. They are changemakers whose impact to change kids’ health isn’t just about helping those in critical situations—it’s also about the research, preventative care, health and safety education, and other support services that help build healthier communities today and tomorrow.

During the month of May, you can help Costco reach the $500 million milestone to change kids’ health! When you shop online or in-warehouse at Costco, make a donation to help kids like Reid, our 2021 Children’s Miracle Network Champion. Reid came to The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio when we was just two years old and was diagnosed with kidney cancer. He spent a year in the hospital following surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment. Reid has had a total of 10 surgeries; the most recent was in summer 2018, to remove a benign tumor from his spinal cord. Today, 14-year-old Reid spends every birthday collecting money and toys to be donated to patients at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. While Reid has some residual medical issues, his cancer is in remission and he continues to see his physicians regularly. The Costco fundraising campaign runs through May 31 where funds stay local to directly help kids in our community. Since 2000, Costco employees and members have donated more than $1,479,600 for kids treated at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. Costco’s impact has transformed patients’ and families’ lives. Through donations collected during the annual campaign, hospitals are able to provide treatments and healing that patients desperately need today so that they can fulfill their potential for tomorrow—ultimately having ripple effects that positively impact our communities and our world for years to come.
