Celebrating Children’s Hospitals Week
Several members of our team were thrilled to join Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) at the 2018 Children’s Hospitals Week (CHW) celebration in Orlando last week. We gathered with hundreds of other CMNH members from across the United States and Canada, dozens of corporate partners, radio and media partners, students, Champion and alumni families, celebrities, and other key supporters, all for one cause:
to strengthen our combined efforts to help kids in need.
Throughout the week, we shared tips and success stories, focused on fundraising innovation, networked, and were inspired by the incredible children we serve.
Our very own Carmelita Cedillo, development specialist, was selected by CMNH as a Peak Performer for going above and beyond and excelling in her relationships with our corporate partners in 2017. She shared her ideas and best practices with attendees during CHW.
We were also excited to have representatives, George and Rosana, from Walmart’s Laredo store, and Art, from our Extra Life San Antonio Guild, joining us at CHW. The Laredo Walmart has been the top fundraising store in the nation for three consecutive years – an incredible feat! Their efforts amaze us year after year. Art and other members of the Extra Life San Antonio Guild spread awareness and help raise funds to make a difference for The Children’s Hospital all year long. We are grateful to have such wonderful, dedicated partners. Their efforts help hundreds of miracle children, like our local Champions, Holly and Heather Cooper, who were featured in the commemorative Children’s Hospitals Week book!
The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio is proud to be the only Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals member in our region. Local CMNH partners fundraise in support of The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio year-round. Whether funds are raised through golf tournaments, dance marathons, rounding up at registers, or Miracle Balloon icon campaigns, all donations stay local to benefit the children in our community.
