Like Watching Movies? You Can Help Kids in Our Community
One of our family’s favorite things to do is see the latest blockbuster movie. Like many of our choices, we try to make sure we are getting the most for our money. And when we can, we also like to support local businesses, and especially businesses that “do good.” Since we’re so committed to supporting our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, Christus Santa Rosa, it’s an easy choice for us to see movies at Santikos Theatres in our hometown of San Antonio, Texas.
In November 2016, Children’s Hospital of San Antonio was one of eight (8) nonprofit organizations to receive over nine million dollars in funding for capital projects from the John L. Santikos Charitable Foundation. The Hospital received $2,500,000 towards establishing the only Children’s Trauma Services program in the San Antonio region.
With eight (8) San Antonio area locations, it’s easy to find a Santikos Theatre to visit. We love using their mobile app to make our seat reservations ahead of time, and knowing that our purchases can help our community makes Santikos our theatre of choice.
One of our favorite theatres is the recently remodeled Santikos Embassy 14. The theatre features a classic and chic lobby area, fully reclining seats, and movie memorabilia and props displayed throughout. The best part is the charitable causes are displayed throughout the theatre lobby with their own ‘Walk of Fame’ styled stars, reminding patrons they are helping to support the community with every purchase. At the theatre entrance, funding recipients are also featured on engraved pavers. It’s a great reminder that we can help kids in our community just by going to the movies.
