Dairy Queen Brings Hope on Miracle Treat Day July 28

Helping kids has never been sweeter! Dairy Queen (DQ) is serving hope to patients and families at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals member, by helping to ensure the children in our community can lead healthy, fulfilling lives. But they can’t do it alone.

On Thursday, July 28, local participating DQ locations will give back to positively change the health of children in our community through Miracle Treat Day. On Miracle Treat Day, $1 or more from every BLIZZARD Treat sold at participating DQ locations will benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Funds will stay local to benefit The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. Participating areas include: San Antonio, New Braunfels, Seguin, Victoria, Pearsall, Del Rio, Devine, Floresville, Kenedy, Pleasanton, Poteet, Jourdanton, Somerset, and China Grove.

The Dairy Queen in New Braunfels will host their annual “Battle of the Blizzards” Miracle Treat Day competition between their two local high school football teams. The school that sells the most Blizzards will be named the champion! Stop by to witness the friendly battle, and help the teams kick off their season by helping local pediatric patients.

Patients like Nolan have directly benefited from your donations. Nolan was diagnosed with retinoblastoma in 2019 and had to have his left eye completely removed. Eight weeks after surgery, Nolan was fitted for a prosthetic eye – his “superhero eye,” as he likes to call it. Nolan’s doctors were fearful the cancer had spread microscopically and suggested chemotherapy. In August of that same year, Nolan began chemotherapy at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio – the same place his mom once served as the Chief Resident and a place where she helps heal children every single day. Nolan completed his chemotherapy just in time for his fourth birthday. He celebrated by ringing the bell, marking the completion of six long months of chemo. Today, Nolan is a super seven-year-old who loves reading, hanging out with his little brother, Cooper, and playing T-ball.

Your support helps create ripple effects in our community that can positively impact more kids like Nolan for years to come. Dairy Queen has been a proud partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1984, and has raised more than $827,742 locally for The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. Their support has brought joy and healing to kids treated in the hospital in countless ways.

Children’s hospitals are at the frontlines when it comes to protecting the health of future generations and DQ wants to help them foster the business owners, creators and leaders of tomorrow.

Thanks to you and to Dairy Queen locations across the area for helping change kids’ health and change the future at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. We are grateful to have such a generous community.
